Organised Labour Walks Back, Suspends Strike

Organised labour, comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and United Labour Congress (ULC) on Sunday announced the suspension of its warning strike, three days after it commenced the industrial action.

The suspension, according to Labour, was sequel to the receipt of of a formal invitation to a reconvened meeting of the tripartite committee negotiating the new minimum wage which will hold on Thursday.

National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Ayuba Wabba announced this while briefing journalists at the Labour House Abuja.

Wabba said that the organised labour has gotten firm commitment from the government that the Tripartite Committee of the Minimum Wage Committee reconvenes on October 4.
